"Reviving the dead" .. An unprecedented step to uncover a crime that occurred 20 years ago (video)

Dutch police have taken what may be the world's first to solve the mystery of the murder of a teenager two decades ago, in the parking garage of a Rotterdam metro station.

The police used the technique of "reviving the dead through the technique of deep forgery" to solve the stages of the crime that the teenager was exposed to, by installing a video in which the teenager requests information and testimonies to solve the mystery of the murder he was exposed to, in an attempt to urge witnesses to give their data in the case.

The police stated that they obtained dozens of information after publishing this video, which was installed with this technology, considering that this step may be the first of its kind in the world.

A day after the video was published, Rotterdam police spokeswoman Lilian van Duvenbode told AFP that "the police received dozens of information as a very positive sign," adding, "But we have not yet checked whether the data is useful."

The video, spanning more than a minute, shows the boy waving to the camera and holding a ball while playing soccer, then advancing to the sound of moving music towards a guard on the field where his relatives, former teachers and friends are.

Cedar Soares was killed after he was shot in 2003 when he and his friends were throwing snowballs in the parking garage of the Rotterdam metro station.

For years, the killing of the 13-year-old baffled police, who, with his family's approval, released a composite video in which the teenager asked the public for help in solving his case.

Police consider Soares "a victim of the violence of the underworld due to bad luck", and are currently looking for testimonies and statements from individuals who knew of the incident, as well as eyewitnesses to the shooting.

In the video, a voice is heard saying, "Someone must know who killed my dear brother, that's why (Suares) has been brought back to life in this video," then Cedar pauses in the video and throws the ball.

"Do you know more?" say Cedar and his relatives and friends.

So Speak,” before the teen's photo disappears from the stadium and details about how to contact the police by phone or email appear.
