The accident, in which a sightseeing boat sank off the Shiretoko Peninsula in Hokkaido, killed 14 passengers and lost 12 people, is 23 days after the accident.

At the sinking site, the hull will be lifted into the sea near the surface of the water as early as the 23rd, and it is expected to be lifted onto the workboat on the 24th.

On the 23rd of last month, the accident in which the sightseeing boat "KAZU 1" carrying 26 passengers and crew sank off the coast of the Shiretoko Peninsula confirmed the deaths of 14 passengers found in the surrounding waters.

Even now, one month after the outbreak, the whereabouts of 12 people remain unknown, and the 1st Regional Coast Guard Headquarters and the Self-Defense Forces have found missing persons in a wide range from the Shiretoko Peninsula to the northern territory of Kunashiri Island. I am searching, but the search has become difficult over time.

On the other hand, for the tour boat that sank to the bottom of the sea at a depth of about 120 meters, preparation work for withdrawal was resumed on the morning of the 23rd.

It means that divers who were dropped into the sea with capsules from the salvage company's work ship "Kaishin" are doing saturation diving and doing work such as tying up wires for salvage.

At the earliest, we will lift the hull to the sea near the surface of the water by the end of the 23rd, and will move to shallow water while remaining suspended in the sea.

On top of that, the policy is to withdraw the ship onto the work ship as early as the 24th.

Regarding this accident, the actual situation of sloppy safety management is one after another, such as the fact that the operating company "Shiretoko Tour Boat" neglected to make fixed-point contact with the tourist boat and did not secure sufficient means of communication. It has been revealed that the Japan Coast Guard is investigating on suspicion of accidental fatalities in business.

The Japan Coast Guard Headquarters will continue to rush to find the missing person, check the condition of the hull to be withdrawn in detail, and investigate the cause of the accident and whether there was any negligence on the part of the company.
