A festive tea was presented by the city to a woman in Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City, who celebrated her 108-year-old longevity.

In Shizuoka City, as part of our efforts to create a healthy and long-lived town, we are presenting tea to the citizens who have reached their 108th birthday, which is the "tea life".

Mayor Hiroshi Shiobara of Shimizu Ward, Shizuoka City visited the home of Maki Yamamoto, who celebrated his 108th birthday on the 21st of this month, and said, "Congratulations on your 108th birthday. I gave them hand-picked tea and so on.

Mr. Yamamoto, who received the celebration, said, "I'm not so happy," and sang his favorite song in front of the family members and city officials who gathered at home.

Mr. Yamamoto has a total of 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and is currently the fourth longest-lived person in Shizuoka City.

Sanae Nakazato, 78, the eldest daughter who went to her celebration, said, "I am very happy that her mother has reached her tea life. I hope she will continue to live longer." ..
