 Social media platforms in Kuwait circulated photos and videos of Kuwait's atmosphere at the moment the severe dust storm entered it, causing a lack of horizontal visibility in some areas, and turning the day into night.

The dust storm started this morning in Iraq, and caused a lack of visibility and suffocated dozens, in addition to stopping air traffic, before the storm receded and moved towards Kuwait.

The storm reached Kuwait this afternoon, and also caused the suspension of air traffic at Kuwait International Airport, due to the lack of horizontal visibility, and the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior warned citizens against the lack of visibility in some areas, and its decline to less than 500 meters in other areas.

Today, Monday, the General Administration of Civil Aviation in the State of Kuwait announced the temporary suspension of air traffic at Kuwait International Airport, at 2:20 pm local time in the State of Kuwait, due to the dusty situation in the country.

The Kuwaiti Civil Aviation Administration stated that the movement of aircraft was affected by the current weather condition and the lack of visibility;

Because of the dust storm, the ministry explained that flight times will be rescheduled and return to normal air traffic at the airport as soon as visibility improves.

The General Administration of Relations and Security Media at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior called on citizens and residents to abide by the wave of dust and bad weather conditions currently prevailing in the country, which led to a decrease in visibility on some roads.
