Alpaca was shaved at a zoo in Nagano City before the heat got into full swing.

Three alpaca are bred at Chausuyama Zoo in Nagano City.

Alpaca originally live in cool places above 4000 meters above sea level and can get sick in the hot and humid climate of Japan, so zoos cut their hair every year at this time of year.

On the 23rd, six zookeepers started cutting the hair of male "diamonds" that had grown to about 10 cm with hair clippers after noon.

There were some rampages along the way, but the zookeepers took about an hour and a half to cut their hair, gently stroking and calming them down.

After cutting the hair, "Diamond" was walking comfortably.

A girl from Niigata Prefecture said, "I'm glad I think it's getting cooler."

Chika Yasuda, the keeper, said, "I think it's hot this summer. I'd be happy if you could move vigorously."

The zoo is planning to cut alpaca hair this Saturday (28th) as well.
