At 00:00 on May 19, 2022, the airspace structure adjustment plan of the Beijing-Guangdong Corridor (the southern section plan) was officially launched, marking that the north-south air traffic artery connecting the two world-class urban agglomerations in my country's Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will be replaced by The original two-lane "single-on, single-off" has become a "double-on, double-off" four-lane, which further improves operational safety and flight efficiency.

It is understood that the adjustment of the airspace structure of the Beijing-Guangdong Channel is the one with the widest impact, the most complete coordination between military and civil aviation, and the longest preparation time since the construction of the major civil aviation channel.

It took 8 years from planning to final implementation.

The plan involves 7 provinces (Hebei, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guangxi, Guangdong, Jiangxi) along the Beijing-Guangzhou route, 2 municipalities (Beijing, Tianjin), as well as Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, affecting 145 airports, accounting for 10% of the total national transport airports. 57.1%.

Among them, there are 8 airports with tens of millions.

The main body of the plan for the southern section of the Beijing-Guangzhou Channel, which was opened on May 19, consists of two sets of 4 routes. The main purpose is to carry out "parallel one-way transformation" of the original Beijing-Guangzhou Air Road (A461) south of the Hubei area, and at the same time to open up the Beijing-Guangzhou diversion. The connecting part of the route (W45) to the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, combined with the W102 route on the west side, realizes a large channel pattern of "two ups and two downs, one-way circulation", effectively connecting the two fields of Beijing, Tianjin, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Changsha, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau and other important regional hub airports.

According to statistics, the southern section of the Beijing-Guangzhou Corridor plans to open up and adjust 19 new routes and routes, add 2,313 kilometers of route mileage, adjust and optimize the relevant entry and departure flight procedures at 13 airports, and adjust the direction of about 5,000 flight routes.

After evaluation, in terms of operational safety, the number of cross-convergence and conflict deployments along the routes along the Beijing-Guangzhou Channel will be reduced by about 572 times a day.

In terms of energy conservation and emission reduction, the one-way flight from Beijing capital to Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Macao can save about 125 kilometers, and the annual mileage can be saved by about 3.18 million kilometers, the fuel can be saved by about 17,000 tons, and the carbon emissions can be reduced by about 54,000 tons.

In terms of flight flow, the implementation of the Beijing-Guangzhou Airspace Plan can reduce the flight flow of the main congested waypoints along the Beijing-Guangzhou route, and the maximum can be reduced to 67.1% before the implementation. Airway capacity between the bays.

Since the opening of the Beijing-Kunming corridor at the end of 2013, my country's civil aviation has successfully opened 6 major air corridors, and the average daily flight volume of civil aviation has also increased from 10,360 in 2013 to 16,388 in 2019, which strongly supports 58.2% of the country's air traffic. The increase in flight volume provides high-quality airspace guarantee for the rapid development of my country's civil aviation.

The Beijing-Guangdong Channel implemented this time is the seventh major channel in the planning and construction of the "10+3" backbone air channel.

The plan improves the overall operation efficiency by optimizing and adjusting the airspace of the main routes of Beijing-Guangzhou and the hub airports along the route. It is estimated that the airspace capacity of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the regions along the route can be increased by nearly 40%. The economic construction of the Tianjin-Hebei region, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the regions along the route is of great significance to smooth the domestic circulation and promote the domestic and international dual circulation.

According to statistics, the Beijing-Guangzhou A461 route has 6 busy route points with an average daily average of about 1,000 sorties, and 10 busy flight segments with an average daily average of over 600 sorties, making it one of the busiest air routes in the world.

Rationalizing the routes of the Beijing-Guangzhou air route has great strategic significance for solving the nationwide airspace congestion problem, and will also play a huge role in promoting the development of the regional economy.

It is understood that the Beijing-Guangzhou Corridor is one of the "10+3" air backbone channels of my country's civil aviation and an important part of the national comprehensive three-dimensional transportation network.

Since 2012, the Civil Aviation Administration of China has set the goal of building "the overall large-scale circulation, local micro-circulation, and synergy of each unit" for my country's air route network, focusing on national strategies, industry development and passenger needs. The airspace innovation idea of “dividing in the south, straightening in the north, and dredging in the middle” comprehensively promotes the planning and design of the national civil aviation trunk route network, promotes the construction of the major air passages with the one-way circulation design concept, and plans the “10+3” air backbone major passage. building.

Up to now, seven major air passages including Beijing-Kunming, Guanglan, Hulan, Huha, Shanghai-Rong, China-Korea and Beijing-Guangzhou have been opened one after another, marking that my country has gradually built the basic structure of the national civil aviation route network.

Civil Aviation of China always adheres to serving the national strategy, serving the people's travel, and serving the economic and social development as the starting point and goal, and comprehensively builds an air transport network system and an international air transport channel system with leading scale, extensive coverage, accessibility, convenience, efficiency and strong guarantee. and aviation hub functional system.

It is expected that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, domestic cities will be efficiently and smoothly connected, remote areas will be effectively connected, and domestic and international connectivity will be achieved, providing a strong guarantee for the construction of a strong civil aviation country in the new era.
