Disclosure of the cause of the death of tens of thousands of fish in Jordan Valley farms

The Jordanian Ministry of Agriculture revealed the cause of the death of tens of thousands of fish on farms in the Jordan Valley.

The ministry said in a statement that the preliminary results of the tests conducted on dead fish in the farms of the Jordan Valley showed a fungal infection caused by the disease "gill rot."

The ministry added that the talk is about a fungal disease that can be treated and managed, denying that the disease constitutes an epidemic situation for humans or animals, according to what was reported by the official "Kingdom" channel.

Adnan Khaddam, head of the Jordan Valley Farmers Union, had revealed that the losses of tens of thousands of carp fish, which began 5 days ago, are estimated at 300,000 dinars (423.75 thousand dollars), pointing out that the losses included 90% of the farms.
