Over the past weeks, fans of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have been following the high-profile trials of the stars in anticipation of a verdict.

The case will go to jury after May 27.

On Tuesday, May 17, Heard completed her testimony defending herself against her ex-husband's accusations.

Depp's lawyer Camilla Vasquez accused Amber Heard of lying and said that she was the offender in her and Depp's couple.

During the process, the lawyer turned on audio recordings of disputes and quarrels of ex-spouses, and also read aloud several love messages from Heard to Depp, which the actress wrote after the alleged attacks.

Of these, Camilla Vasquez concluded that Hurd was not afraid of her husband, but she objected to the lawyer.

“This is the man who tried to kill me.

Naturally, it's scary.

He is also my husband,” said the actress.

Heard previously told jurors about the final months of her marriage, including a series of violent incidents in which she said her husband choked her, beat her, and threw things at her in a drug rage.

“I knew I would have to leave him.

I knew that if I did not do this, I would not survive.

I was very afraid that this would end extremely badly for me ... Violence was already the norm, not the exception.

I think he would end up going too far and then I wouldn't be here," Heard said.

At the same time, it is known that after another quarrel, the police were called to the couple's apartment.

Earlier, the officers said that then Amber Heard refused to draw up a protocol.

They themselves did not see any evidence of the crime.

The actress said that she refused to cooperate with them because she did not want Depp to be arrested.

However, a few days later she reported domestic violence.

Amber Heard also spoke about the conflict with her ex-husband, which occurred in Australia in 2015.

According to the actress, then Depp raped her with a bottle.

“He climbed on top of me on the gaming table and started punching me in the face over and over again,” Hurd recalls.

- The next thing I remember: I'm lying leaning back on the bar - that is, chest up.

It felt like he was punching me, but at the same time I felt pressure - pain and pressure in the area of the pubic bone.

However, as Vasquez noted, no medical evidence of violence has been provided.

The actress stated that she did not want to make this incident public.

Depp, in turn, denies the accusation.

According to the Pirates of the Caribbean star, it was Heard who then threw a glass bottle at him, a fragment from which cut off part of his middle finger.

In response, the actress suggested that the ex-husband probably cut his finger himself when he broke the wall phone.

Camilla Vasquez asked questions about Amber Heard's statements about donating money received after the divorce to charities - $ 7 million, which the actress promised to divide between the children's hospital in Los Angeles and the American Civil Liberties Union.

In her own words, she made this decision because "she doesn't need anything from Depp."

At the same time, Hurd did not fulfill her promises, citing large expenses due to a lawsuit.

However, on cross-examination, she admitted that she received the money a few months before Depp filed a lawsuit.

Vasquez suggested that Amber Heard entered into a relationship with Johnny Depp for money.

“I wasn’t interested,” Hurd replied.

- I loved Johnny.

That's why I was with him."

In support of her words, she mentioned the amount offered for the settlement of the conflict.

The actress said the $7 million was far less than what she was offered and what she was "entitled to".

Commenting on the question of the feces that Johnny Depp found in the bed, Amber Heard repeated that they were dog feces - the ex-spouses' Yorkshire Terrier allegedly had digestive problems after he accidentally swallowed Depp's narcotic substances.

The actor himself previously said that he did not believe Heard.

According to him, the ex-wife discussed this incident in his presence with a friend on the phone.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard met in 2010 on the set of The Rum Diary and got married in 2015, but in the spring of 2016, conflicts began in the family.

In May, Heard filed for divorce, and in August the process was completed.

Later, the tabloid The Sun published material in which Depp was accused of beating his ex-wife.

Then the actor sued for publication.

During the process, Amber Heard stated that her husband hit her on the day of the artist's 30th birthday, and in another quarrel, he threw a phone at her.

Johnny Depp denied all accusations - he said that he himself was a victim of domestic violence.

Witnesses from the artist's side said that Hurd dragged him by the hair, put out a cigarette about him, and once threw a bottle, as a result of which Depp cut off a piece of his finger.

In November 2020, the court ruled in the case of Johnny Depp against the publisher of The Sun - the actor was denied a libel suit.

This outcome had a serious impact on the artist's career.

Studio Warner Bros.

asked him to turn down the role of the dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald, which he played in the first two films of the Fantastic Beasts series.

In addition, Depp complained about the boycott from Hollywood.

The couple's quarrels and litigation have also damaged Heard's reputation - the actress admitted that she had to "fight" for her role in Aquaman 2, and that her screen time was significantly reduced.

“They gave me the script, and then I got new versions of it, where the action scenes were removed, in which my heroine and another character were supposed to be involved.

I will not do any spoilers, but two characters fought each other there.

And, in fact, a large piece of my role was cut out, ”said Heard.

The current legal proceedings, this time on Johnny Depp's libel suit filed against Amber Heard, began in April 2022.

The actress in 2018 wrote a column for The Washington Post, in which she spoke about the violence experienced in her youth, and also noted that two years ago she became a "public figure faced with domestic violence."

The material does not make accusations against specific people, but Johnny Depp took the words to his account.

The artist said that the ex-wife is spreading defamatory information and demanded compensation in the amount of $50 million.
