They are worried about “the future of the Ried”.

This Saturday, members of the collective Le Chaudron des alternatives carried out a towing campaign in Diebolsheim and Sundhouse (Alsace), two towns located on the German border.

The object of their fear: the extension of the German leisure park Europa-Park over 200 hectares on the French side, reports

Les Dernieres Nouvelles d'Alsace.

The park project, baptized “Europa valley”, would notably include a hotel complex and a cable car crossing the Rhine.

The collective fears the project will lead to "the destruction and concreting of more than 300 hectares of arable land and wetlands", as well as "permanent pollution".
