  The "Report" shows that in 2021, Guangdong will further promote the reform and development of museums, and promote the construction of "museum cities" in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Foshan, Meizhou, Dongguan, Chaozhou and other places, and the development of museums in the province will achieve new results.

Among them, the memorial halls of the three major conference sites of the Communist Party of China have been renovated and upgraded, and a number of museums such as the new Zhaoqing Museum, the Chaozhou Xiangqiao District Museum, the Meizhou Meijiang District Museum, and the Dongguan Songshan Lake Wangye Museum have been established and opened.

  In terms of the distribution of museums in Guangdong province, Guangzhou and Shenzhen have 66 museums and 59 museums respectively, ranking first and second in the province, accounting for 34% of the total number of museums in the province; Foshan and Meizhou each have museums 27, tied for third place.

  The "Report" shows that in 2021, Guangdong will implement the collection, registration, and grading mechanism for museum collections, and continue to promote the filing of non-state-owned museum collections. By the end of 2021, the province's museum collections reached 2,519,800 pieces/set, an increase of 87,500 pieces/set over the previous year.

In terms of precious cultural relics, the museum has 86,263 precious cultural relics/sets, an increase of 887 pieces/sets over the previous year.

  In addition, the museum with the largest number of collections in Guangdong Province in 2021 is the Sun Yat-Sen University Biological Museum, with a collection of 1.139 million pieces/set; the Guangdong Provincial Museum (Guangzhou Lu Xun Memorial Hall) ranks second with 204,400 pieces/set; Guangzhou Museum, Jiangmen Municipal Museum, Heyuan Municipal Museum (Heyuan Dinosaur Museum) ranked third, fourth and fifth respectively.

  The "Report" also shows that the cultural and creative products of museums in Guangdong Province are constantly enriched.

In 2021, the province's museums will develop 2,305 cultural and creative products, an increase of 10.34% over the previous year; the revenue from cultural and creative products will be 39.9339 million yuan, an increase of 20.16% over the previous year, resulting in better economic benefits.
