• Chanel report: this is how a diva is made for Eurovision

It's been 20 years since a young and inexperienced

Rosa López

(Granada, 1981), fresh out of

Operación Triunfo

, made Estonia -and all of Europe- dance with her

Europe's living a celebration

.

Two decades of collective madness invaded a country that saw itself as winning Eurovision and that despised a seventh place, which was never repeated.

Maybe until today.

After 20 years, what memory do you have left of everything you experienced? Apart from the brutal emotion of representing Spain, I'm left with the very dedicated country.

That was a different Spain, much less demanding than now.

Every year it is more and in this case everything falls on Chanel.

I'm expecting him to do something spectacular because we already deserve it.: A lot of pressure came on you to win, was there really less demand?

I created the pressure myself, but it was magical to have a very upset country, to see your parents cry.

All of Spain thought we were going to win in 2002, but now it is more demanding because we compare everything and the bar is very high.

Imagine living the Chanel thing now, with the insults on networks and others.

I live facing that at 41 years old, but participating 20 years ago I won the lottery.

People now see us as a stereotype.

I just talked about it with Chanel, that your essence is above all else.

For the people I was the chubby one, the

triumphant

, the Eurovision... but above all that is the person.

Do you have the feeling that this has increased? We live in a very demanding and bastard society in which everything is demanded of you.

But Chanel is doing very well because she couldn't be more of an artist, more hard-working and more beautiful.

I don't know anyone in Spain who does what she does on stage.

But you, who have followed the same path as Chanel, do you think everything she has had to go through seems unfair?

Sometimes the public is very demanding, but I think she handles it very well because she works a lot and she is such a fighter that, although there are people full of hate on the networks, she doesn't care.

We live in a society with a lot of lightness to give an opinion and many times without any criteria.

She is working hard, she is focused on representing our country and she is going to take the issue forward as God intended.

Do you see the chance of winning? I hope I'm not wrong, but I'd say we're going to be in the top six.

I think that Ukraine, because of everything that is happening, will be in first or second place, but Chanel drives all countries crazy with her clothes, her dance and her voice.

She is everything that Spain is, that power, it was time to have someone who represents that, that we always fall short. As happened with you, have people in Spain reconnected this year with Eurovision? It is that after many years we believe we can win, even though there are many very good artists.

In the end, what we have left is what we live, and this must be lived to the fullest.

Knowing what you now know, would you be Spain's candidate for Eurovision again?

If she was 21 years old, she would do it with her eyes closed.

She was full and really wanted to celebrate with my

Europe's living a celebration

.

Think that I came from singing since I was 13 years old and from winning OT and I went on to represent my country, which was unthinkable.

And right now would you value it for the future? To this day I would not present myself, at 41 years old I have already overcome it.

It's not because it was bitter, but because competition is good when you're just starting out and you want to improve yourself day by day through others;

Now I just want to improve myself through myself. That also led you to live with a lot of pressure.

Was it worth it? Of course it was worth it, today I'm an independent artist and I'm on my ninth album thanks to that.

It was more than worth it because I have become a strong and empowered woman who is going for her ninth album and starts another tour in June.

When you see that her song from 2002 is still playing everywhere,

What do you feel? I feel a lot of love because that was born in 2002 and despite the fact that we don't live in one of the best European situations, I think that music is the best way to be able to cross barriers and think about the things that make us better.

So I will always wear it and I will sing loudly that Europe is experiencing a celebration.
