  In order to further promote the aesthetic education of Northwestern Polytechnical University and carry forward the excellent traditional Chinese culture, the school's art education center has opened the "Mural Art Workshop" course for all students since the spring of 2021.

  The course invites Wang Jianqi, an expert on murals from Shaanxi History Museum, to lead the lecture, and select representative tomb murals of the Tang Dynasty such as the tomb of Prince Yide, Prince Zhanghuai, Princess Yongtai, and Tomb of Han Xiu unearthed in Shaanxi. He teaches the art of painting murals, teaches the culture of murals, improves the aesthetic ability through artistic practice, and strengthens the awareness of cultural heritage protection and inheritance.

  "I have been a volunteer at the Shaanxi History Museum since 2018. I am very interested in ancient murals and mural art and have a certain understanding, but this course has taught me more."   Since the start of the course in 2021, the course has cultivated nearly 100 traditional culture inheritors and enthusiasts, improving students' understanding of traditional Chinese mural art, allowing students to understand the changes of excellent traditional culture and touch traditional culture in art learning Development context, learn the spirit of Chinese culture and art.

  At present, the works exhibition of teachers and students of "Classic of the Prosperous Age: Danqing on the Wall" and "Mural Art Workshop" is on display at the school. The exhibition displays more than 60 mural works copied and drawn in the ancient method, as well as the combination of computer technology and the extraction of mural elements. , Innovative hand-painted craft plate works completed by creative transformation.
