The Alpes-de-Haute-Provence prefecture announced on Friday the application of the drought action plan.

“Since the beginning of 2022, the whole of the department (…) has suffered a rainfall deficit of around 60%”, indicate the authorities in a press release.

“Some municipalities in the department are already experiencing difficulties in supplying drinking water,” adds the prefecture.

Faced with this situation, the alert stage was triggered in the Calavon and Nesque watersheds.

This is the second level of restrictions out of four, explains
