In 1822, Champollion deciphered the hieroglyphs.

To celebrate this 200th anniversary, the Louvre Museum offers a little-known story of the pharaohs.

The exhibition “Pharaoh of the Two Lands.

The African epic of the kings of Napata”, is the story of the black pharaohs or how Nubia, long dominated by Egypt, conquered its independence and ended up dominating an immense territory, from present-day Sudan to Egypt.
