Egypt.. Execution of a police officer who committed a horrific crime because of a traffic violation

The Benha Criminal Court, Qalyubia Governorate, in Egypt, has approved the death sentence for a police officer who killed two brothers in Shebin El-Qanater, for a traffic violation.

The head of the court told him during the hearing before the verdict was pronounced: "You were so nervous that you used the weapon delivered to you, in a wrong place, which is to secure people, not terrorize them."

And the Qalyubia Security Directorate had received a notification from the Shebin al-Qanater Center, stating that there was a quarrel at the two crossings of Noi, the center’s department, between a policeman and two brothers, and the first shot at them, which led to their death, and the people gathered, according to “Egypt Times.”

Investigations revealed that the two victims tried to take the violation book from the accused police secretary, to record traffic violations for them, so they were shot and died while receiving treatment at Qalyub Hospital.

The people also gathered after the incident, and broke and burned the crossing room, and the trains stopped, before the security services were able to control the situation, and dispersed the crowd with tear gas, and the Public Prosecution authorized the burial of the two bodies.
