Yegor Peregudov has been appointed Artistic Director of the Mayakovsky Moscow Academic Theatre.

This is stated on the website of the mayor of Moscow.

Peregudov will take office on June 1.

The proposal to appoint a new leader came from the troupe, he was supported by the Moscow Department of Culture.

“The Mayakovsky Theater is a unique theater with its own spirit and atmosphere, associated with the names of the great directors of the past — Meyerhold, Popov, Okhlopkov, Goncharov.

For me, the connection between the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theater and the directing department of GITIS, which I graduated from and where I have been teaching for 12 years, is important, ”Peregudov commented on his appointment.

On February 25, it became known that the artistic director of the Mayakovsky Theater Mindaugas Karbauskis was leaving his post.
