Actress Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha Jones on Sex and the City and its feature-length sequels, told Variety why she didn't appear on Just Like That.

Cattrall noted that the new series is essentially the third film in the series (the project was planned but not filmed).

A multi-episode sequel to Sex and the City was announced in January 2021.

Even then it became known that the central roles will be played by Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, and Kim Cattrall will not participate in the project.
