Ceasefire for three days in Mariupol to evacuate civilians

Evacuations should be able to resume, temporarily, in the Ukrainian port of Mariupol.

Russia announced on Wednesday evening that its forces would cease fire for three days from Thursday on the Azovstal steelworks.

“The Russian armed forces will open a humanitarian corridor from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Moscow time (one hour less in Paris) on May 5, 6 and 7 from the site of the Azovstal metallurgical plant to evacuate civilians “said the Ministry of Defense.

“During this period, the Russian armed forces and the units of the Donetsk People's Republic will cease fire and hostilities unilaterally.

Civilians who have taken refuge in the factory will be allowed to travel to Russia or territories under kyiv's control, according to the ministry statement.

“We can postpone the French Overshoot Day by 25 days”, according to the WWF

It's a bad date for the planet.

Overshoot Day, the date on which we have consumed the resources that the Earth is capable of renewing in a year, would indeed fall on Thursday if everyone lived like French people.

Last year, globally, it fell on July 29, the same day as in 2018 and 2019, after falling in 2020 under the effect of the Covid-19 pandemic.

But we must not fall into fatalism.

Our journalist Fabrice Pouliquen therefore interviewed Pierre Cannet, from WWF France, to understand how to postpone this crucial date.

Real Madrid in the C1 final and Benzema on the podium of historic scorers

The rule is simple: with Real Madrid you have to be careful until the final whistle.

The Merengue have indeed signed a new extraordinary comeback on Wednesday in their den of Santiago-Bernabéu by overthrowing Manchester City 3-1 in extra time (4-3 defeat in the first leg).

The club joins Liverpool in the Champions League final on May 28 at the Stade de France.

The evening was above all particularly prosperous for Karim Benzema.

In addition to having been a key player in qualification, the captain of Real scored against Manchester City his fifteenth goal of the season in the competition, at the same time joining Robert Lewandowski in third place among the historic scorers of the C1, with 86 achievements.

So to relive this completely crazy match, it's here.
