TV El Hormiguero, forced to change its security protocol before the visit of William Levy
MomenTVs The question that Chanel refused to answer in El Hormiguero
Television Carmen Machi and the great "morphine fart" in El Hormiguero
It must be easy to sit on a set, in an interview, when you know that any word you say, any gesture, any smile, even any look, is going to bring the set down.
William Levy
must be used to being greeted with such a roar of applause that he can hardly even say hello.
And so, as expected, they received him last night at
El Hormiguero
.
An
Anthill
that had to reinforce its security measures before the visit of the heartthrob from Café con aroma de mujer.
Pablo Motos
was afraid
that his visit would get out of hand and he would end up making a big deal out of it.
The blood did not reach the river.
everything was under control.
Of course, for each movement that
William Levy made
a dozen howls thundered.
William Levy
was nice, he gave himself to the interview, he wasted humor and fulfilled more than enough what his fans probably expected.
In fact, he gave himself so much that the interview almost, almost, almost ended like Miguel Ángel Revilla's, out of time.
He was such a charming prince, so eager to win over the Spanish public, so eager, so hypnotic that even
Pablo Motos
himself fell at his feet.
Note that when
Pablo Motos
interviews a character for the first time and has had no more relationship with him than the minutes before
El Hormiguero
begins , there is always a certain halo of tension, which is never present when those who sit in the chair they are guests Platinum, Infinity or their friends.
However, last night with
William Levy
that halo of tension did not show his leg at any time.
William Levy
is a born conqueror and he knew from the beginning how to win over the presenter.
It is already known that the guests who go to
El Hormiguero
are going to have fun, they are not going to suffer or have an uncomfortable interview, so
William Levy
was going to make everything as easy as possible so that in his first interview in Spain in prime time it was a bed of roses.
But, in reality, he was the one who paved the way for roses.
He did not dodge a single question, he did not tense up with any question, he did not bother when talking about absolutely nothing and he explained everything he wanted, and even if
Pablo Motos
had let him tell more things, he would have told them.
William Levy
is aware that he is more than handsome, that his role is that of a 21st-century heartthrob, and he does not hesitate to use it and, above all, to enjoy it, and whoever wants to enjoy it with him.
William Levy
does
n't look uncomfortable when they cheer him on, yell at him handsome, offer to show him Madrid or whatever it takes.
Not much less, he enjoys it to the fullest and also tries to give what he receives.
William Levy 'collapses' El Hormiguero
Rarely, with the exception of politicians and great media stars, has an interview in
El Hormiguero
taken up so much time, almost 40 minutes and because the program had to end by exploding a block of ice with a super firecracker inside, that if we had not had
William Levy
until Antena 3 had called Jorge Salvador to tell him to cut it off, that
Inocentes
was starting .
Why?
First, because although it mobilizes millions of fans around the world, it is still not as well known in Spain as it is in the US or Latin America.
He knows it and his intention last night was for the Spanish public to know him, so that any question
Pablo Motos
asked him was going to be answered and he was not going to answer it with monosyllables.
Second, because the filming of Montecristo
, of which he is the producer, will soon begin in Spain
, with which he is obliged to be seen, to be known and for his name to start sounding without having to search for it on Google.
And third, because
William Levy
he is a born conqueror, because he has been dedicating himself to this for decades and because experience is a degree.
the degree that makes you leave no trace or the degree that makes you leave the most watched program on Spanish television in prime time, having seduced everyone.
"If tonight we have to say yes to all the people who have asked us for tickets, we would have to do the program at the Bernabéu. How are you handling all this?"
Pablo Motos
started the interview after the howling, the shouting and the applause they allowed it.
"I feel very grateful, very blessed, because God has given me the opportunity to experience this. People's affection is the best prize an artist can have."
Looking at the stands, looking at the public, looking at
Pablo Motos
and, once again, the set fell apart.
They talked about their work, what it means to be the protagonist of soap operas, the hours of work, the days, what you give up, what the public does not see, a sacrifice that cannot be seen facing the gallery because everything has to be
marvelous
.
"You normally start at 7 in the morning and at least 12 hours a day from Monday to Saturday. It's quite hard work and sometimes people don't see the work behind it (...) During the recording of
Café con aroma de woman
, my son had an accident. He was hit by a golf cart and I had to leave him. He was unable to walk for a long time and it was a bit hard for me. It is a very difficult job. Thank God he is fine, but it was very hard, "
William Levy
recounted
.
Because wherever you see him, without losing his smile for a moment, without stopping looking for the dedication of his audience,
William Levy
has not had it easy at all.
His followers are well aware of his childhood and adolescence in Cuba, where he was born, but last night in
El Hormiguero
,
William Levy revealed
it to all viewers.
"It hasn't always gone so well for you. You were born in Cuba and you emigrated to the US legally until you were 15, but at 14 you risked your life to get out of there,"
Pablo Motos told him.
.
"I tried, but it went wrong. In the end, we were able to leave because my stepfather was a political refugee. What happens in Cuba is that in addition to experiencing many shortcomings, the hardest thing is that they take away your freedom. It is very hard to give everything for a place and not move forward", revealed
William Levy
without losing a single second of his smile.
As
Pablo Motos
said , "when there is nothing there is a great sense of humor".
And with that humor
William Levy
recounted situations in his life that if it hadn't been for that humor they would have left a more than tragic and harsh interview.
"In Cuba I spent 15 years on a diet forced by the government," he recounted between laughs, assuring that when they ask him how he does to have that physique, he always answers the same.
"(...) In 1989 it was the hardest moment. And yes, you are very hungry. They gave you a quarter of a chicken for the whole month. But in the midst of all these difficult things, you tried to find the positive part," he continued.
And looking for that positive part
William Levy
counted between laughs, lots of laughs, and a lot of humor, some of the hardships that he had to go through.
"In Cuba you couldn't raise animals and the whole block would get together and we would all buy a pig and raise it in the bathtub. It becomes your best friend. If they caught you raising a pig they put you in jail.
If they caught you with meat they would drop 20 years, if you killed a cow, life imprisonment
.
They couldn't listen to the pig and we raised it until December 31, we slaughtered it and ate it together.
There was a time when they said that they would give you one chicken per month per person.
And there I went for him and it turned out that it was a chick for you to raise (...) Of the seven we had at home, only one survived and the one that remained became your pet.
He was like a dog.
When I left I wanted to take him because he was in danger of death there." More laughter. Can you imagine this story without that smile, without freaking out when telling that on Cuban television they even gave recommendations on how to raise the chicken so that it grows? Surely, no one would laugh, but
William Levy
made everyone laugh from
Pablo Motos
to every single person in the audience.
William Levy-scented coffee at El Hormiguero
"When you received asylum, did you go to your uncle's house and they laughed at you because the first thing you did was eat an apple?"
Pablo Motos
continued .
And again all laughter when he confessed that it was so, that in Cuba
William Levy
did not eat apples because "there were no apples", and that when he arrived in the US the first thing he ate was apples.
"Another time we went to a restaurant, and there they gave
pancakes
and put butter on it.
I ordered it and I noticed a man who left the ball and thought it was an ice cream that did not melt and did not understand why he left it.
And when they bring me the ice cream, the butter, I put it in like ice cream, and my sister starts laughing and makes her want to pee.
In Cuba the bathrooms do not have a lid and when my sister entered the bathroom she peed on herself because she did not remember to lift the lid ".
It was when he arrived in the US, as he recounted in
El Hormiguero
, where everything changed.
When she was studying at the University, her mother separated from her and she had to help her bring money home.
She quit baseball and focused on finding work.
One day a woman told her that she could be a model, but she also told her that she had to get a
book
That would cost you about $1,500.
She had nowhere to get them, so just as the excitement for modeling came to her, it left her.
However, one day she went looking for her mother at the factory where she worked and saw the agency that the woman had told her about in a building.
And she went up.
"I went up, I asked, they saw me, I waited half an hour and I came out with a contract. The next day they took pictures of me and they paid me $1,250 a day for three days for that job. It was something that happened from one day to the next and
since then I haven't I have stopped working
."
Even the reaction that
William Levy
had after
Pablo Motos
put the sociological experiment that
El Hormiguero
has done by
Jordi Moltó
was even surprising when bringing Twitter haters face to face with the characters to whom they dedicate their 'precious' words in the social network.
Juan del Val
,
María Pombo
or
Laura Escanes
sat face to face with their haters.
The result, the expected one: in the armor that anonymity gives you, whatever it is;
face to face, nothing at all.
Pablo Motos wanted
William Levy
He reflected on the experiment and his response was surprising, because it was not a response of rage, nor of going against these attitudes, but rather a response of understanding: "It is sad that nowadays people have so much hate. It has happened to me see it on my own social networks. Actually, one cares about what is happening to that person in his life, he must be suffering because a person who is happy does not write this series of things "
William Levy
would have gone on talking and telling if they had left him all night.
And
Pablo Motos
would have kept listening.
It was one of those interviews in which the interviewee gives everything without having to ask for anything.
In fact, there were some moments when
William Levy
threw him to the rod to become partners.
In jest, but with a bit of seriousness.
Because if something was made clear last night by
William Levy
, it is that he is going to come to Spain to stay for some time, at least, the duration of the filming of
Montecristo
.
And then he will see.
"You can come whenever you want, once a year. Now we exchange phones and you call me whenever you want to come."
... Surrendered at his feet.
