The trend is still good in France in the fight against the spread of the coronavirus.

The wave of Covid-19 indeed confirmed on Monday its decline which began a month ago, the number of contaminations like that of hospitalizations falling, according to daily figures from the health authorities.

In the seven days to Monday, the daily average of new infections stood at 52,318, down from the previous day (54,011) and seven days ago (75,297).

It is part of a general downward trend since a peak reached in early April around 140,000.

The decline is confirmed in the hospital

On the hospital side, where the situation is most crucial to gauge the health situation, the decline is also confirmed.

On Monday, 23,211 patients were hospitalized with Covid-19, including 1,511 in critical care, two figures down from the previous day.

The previous Monday, hospitals had 24,980 patients, including 1,659 in critical care units.

In total, since the start of the epidemic more than two years ago, the death of 146,142 people has been attributed to Covid-19.

A total of 54.334 million people have received at least one injection (i.e. 80.6% of the total population) and 53.430 million have a complete vaccination scheme (79.2%), according to data from the Directorate General of Health. released on Monday.
