A video clip has spread on social media showing a Sudanese groom being flogged with a whip during his wedding ceremony, in line with a custom spread in some areas in Sudan to test his strength and endurance.
The video clip revealed the groom, surrounded by a number of his relatives and friends while performing a folk dance, and some of them whipped him with a whip to test his endurance, and this custom is widespread among some tribes in northern Sudan.
The groom remained still, without movement or screaming.
