Ouigo lines continue to expand.
From May 16, it will be possible to reach several large cities from Villeneuve-Saint-Georges station (Val-de-Marne).
Dijon Ville, Chalon-sur-Saône, Mâcon Ville, Lyon Part-Dieu and Lyon-Perrache are concerned, reports
Le Parisien
.
Old Corail trains have been refurbished and will offer these journeys at low prices.
It will take between 10 and 30 euros maximum for adults and 5 euros for children under 12 years old.
Cheaper but longer journeys
But beware, if the prices are attractive, it is also because the journeys are much longer than by TGV: 2h47 to reach Dijon, 3h23 for Chalon, 3h54 for Mâcon and 4h35 or 4h47 for Lyon.
With the TGV, the latter is accessible in just 2 hours.
Objective of these new services: relieve congestion in the major Parisian stations.
Departures will always be from Paris-Bercy (12th arrondissement), but by also stopping at Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, Ile-de-France residents will no longer need to go to Gare de Lyon to take the train to the capital of Gaul.
