On the morning of the 2nd, a passenger car carrying two men and women who seemed to be elderly in Kamiyama Town, Tokushima Prefecture, fell into a river along the prefectural road and was rescued shortly afterwards, but both were confirmed dead.

Around 9:30 am on the 2nd, a person living nearby reported to the police at the Akui River in Kamiyama Town, Tokushima Prefecture, saying, "There was a loud noise and the car fell."



When police and fire departments rushed to the scene, they found a passenger car sunk upside down at a depth of about 4 meters, and found two men and women in the car.



The two were rescued but confirmed dead.



The passenger car that fell is the number outside the prefecture, and the two are considered to be elderly.

According to police, the car seems to have fallen into the river through a gap in the guardrail when it approaches a gentle right curve while driving on a prefectural road with one lane on each side.



Police are checking the identities of the two deceased and are investigating the details.
