Actor Jo Byeong-gyu (26), who was embroiled in a school violence controversy last year, was caught filming a drama based on a webtoon, 'History of Jealousy'.

According to a reader's report, on the 1st, Jo Byung-gyu filmed a drama with the female lead at a university campus in Cheongju-si, Chungcheongbuk-do.

In the play, Jo Byung-gyu, who plays the role of Seo Min-ki, a first-year student in the Korean language department, had his hair styled with all his bangs down and wore a school jumper, just like the original webtoon.

The reader who saw the filming site explained, "Even though the crowd was not small, the filming continued in a serious atmosphere as if not to lose concentration. The chemistry with the actress in the play also seemed good."

Seo Min-gi, played by Jo Byeong-gyu, is a blood-simmering 20-year-old, so the result is always a series of 'rape' and clumsiness, mistakes and silliness.

'A History of Jealousy' started filming early last month, with Jo Byung-gyu, Song Ha-yoon, and Ryeo-woon as the lead actors.

Kim Poong, the original webtoon writer, took charge of the script, and director Kim Seong-hoon, who made the films 'Cooperation' and 'Changguk', took charge of directing.

Produced by HB Entertainment, Cho's agency.

It was supposed to be made into a movie in 2015, but it failed once, and then it was made into a musical in 2017.

Previously, Jo Byung-gyu seemed to be emerging as a popular actor with works that continued from JTBC's 'SKY Castle' and SBS' 'Stove League' to OCN's 'Wonderful Rumors'.

He also gave up his appearance on KBS's 'Comeback Home', which he was scheduled to do with broadcaster Yoo Jae-suk.

Cho Byeong-gyu, who had complained of injustice several times over the allegations of bullying, even mentioned legal action and showed a strong appearance, but it is known that both sides of the battle are still unresolved.

Prior to 'History of Jealousy', Jo Byeong-gyu made a comeback on the 28th of last month through 'All Viewers +: Short Buster'.
