At the request of UNHCR over Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the government decided to dispatch an Air Self-Defense Force transport aircraft to carry relief supplies to help those evacuating from Ukraine to neighboring countries.



At the Air Self-Defense Force Iruma base in Saitama Prefecture, a departure event was held on the morning of the 1st, and Commander Ryusuke Morikawa of the "Air Support Command" to which the dispatched troops belong said, "Important for the realization of peace and stability. And the C2 transport plane dispatched this time took off after 10 am.



According to the Ministry of Defense, transport aircraft will be loaded with blankets and vinyl sheets stored in warehouses in the UAE = United Arab Emirates, as well as supplies such as lanterns that can be charged with sunlight, and transported to Poland.



Transport by SDF aircraft is carried out as a humanitarian international relief activity based on the so-called PKO Cooperation Law, and will be transported to Poland as well as Romania by the end of June, about once a week.
