In Sammu City, where forests occupy about 3900 hectares, which is 26% of the city's area, maintenance costs have increased significantly due to the effects of a series of fallen trees caused by typhoon No. 15 three years ago.



On the other hand, in Urayasu City, which has many landfills in the sea and is an urban area, the issue is how to reduce carbon dioxide. We have signed a "carbon offset" agreement to offset the carbon dioxide emissions and reductions of the two cities.

According to the agreement, the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed in the forests maintained by Sammu City will be certified as reduced by Urayasu City.



Urayasu City estimates that the amount of carbon dioxide absorbed by forests will reach about 60 tons in five years by spending 5 million yen a year, and says, "I want to make sure that carbon dioxide is reduced efficiently." increase.
