A disaster
Nintendo has always been very reluctant to adapt the adventures of its favorite character to the screen since the disastrous
Super Mario Bros
of 1993.
Indeed, despite a distribution carried by John Leguizamo, Bob Hoskins and Dennis Hopper, the live-action film was a failure both critically and commercially.
It remains to be hoped that this new attempt will not suffer the same fate.
