The students of CY Cergy Paris University (Val-d'Oise) are 3D specialists.

After having reproduced certain rooms of the Palace of Versailles, they got down to modeling the room of François, hero of the film “Le Jour se lève” played by Jean Gabin, reports

Le Parisien

this Thursday.

Four months of work were needed to meet this challenge.

The objective of these students in the "digital professions" sector is simple and complicated at the same time: to contribute to the preservation of heritage.

A disturbing experience

Their 3D reconstructions are accessible through a helmet.

“What we do is a bit like several professions at the same time: straddling archeology and something akin to video games,” explains one of the students.

To recreate monuments or rooms, students must identify every detail, check it, before modeling it in 3D.

The result: a disturbing and emotional experience for moviegoers.

The reconstruction is available in the exhibition dedicated to Jean Gabin, in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), until July 10.
