In July 2020, the fate of Hagia Sophia was turned upside down once again.

This symbol of Istanbul, in turn Byzantine church, Ottoman mosque, then Republican museum, became a mosque again according to the will of the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

This decision has raised concerns about the protection and universal vocation of the place.
