The Iraqi judiciary says its word about a teenage crime that shook Najaf

An Iraqi judicial source announced the issuance of a 58-year prison sentence for a young man who killed his parents in Najaf Governorate.

And local media quoted the source, as saying, "A 58-year prison sentence was issued against the young man who killed his parents last January, in a crime that shook Najaf province, which took place in the Euphrates neighborhood."

He added, "The criminal is a high school student, and claims that he killed his father, a university professor, and his mother, an English teacher, because they pressured him to excel, according to what he claimed in his initial statement when he was arrested."

He pointed out that "the criminal opened fire on his family, killing his father and mother, while his sister was shot in the leg, and his other younger sister was able to climb the walls of the roof of the neighbors who told the security services and cordoned off the area immediately."
