On April 27, local time, French President Emmanuel Macron was threw tomatoes during a visit to the suburbs of Paris, his first public appearance since he won re-election last weekend.
While visiting Sergi Pontoise on the outskirts of Paris, Macron was in close contact with local voters when a stream of small tomatoes flew past him, not hitting him, but hitting someone next to him.
Security guards moved quickly, covering Macron's head with their hands and holding up a black umbrella to protect him.
Macron appeared calm, but wanted to leave soon.
