Recently, the Dinosaur River Nature Reserve in Shuangbai, Yunnan captured a precious image of a female green peacock "opening its screen".

The green peacock is the only native peacock species in China. It is only distributed in Yunnan Province, with a population of 555 to 600. It has been listed as a national first-class protected wild animal and a critically endangered species.

It is understood that the traditional sense of peacock opening refers to the male peacock unfolding its tail feathers to show off.

However, female peacocks and chicks also "open the screen" when they are frightened or need to intimidate an enemy.

In addition, the Dinosaur River Nature Reserve also captured interesting pictures of male and female green peacocks opening their screens at the same time and little chicks opening their screens.
