In the ward of the new crown treatment center of the Hong Kong World Expo, whenever they see Wu Shanshan wearing a protective suit, some patients living here will give a thumbs up.

This Hunan girl, who was born in 1997, is the youngest mainland nurse in the Second People's Hospital of Guangdong Province. "I was born in the year of Hong Kong's return."

After the outbreak of the fifth wave of COVID-19 in Hong Kong, at the request of the Hong Kong SAR government, the central government dispatched a medical team from the mainland to assist Hong Kong to fully cooperate with the SAR government in the treatment of patients and help Hong Kong stabilize and control the epidemic as soon as possible.

In March, Wu Shanshan learned that the Second People's Hospital of Guangdong Province, where she worked, would send a medical team to aid Hong Kong, and signed up before she could discuss it with her family.

This time, a total of 29 medical staff from the Second People's Hospital of Guangdong Province came to Hong Kong to support the fight against the epidemic.

Wu Shanshan is a nurse in the respiratory and critical care medicine department of the hospital. She has participated in the treatment of patients in the negative pressure isolation ward of the hospital, the customs epidemic prevention and control of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, and the large-scale nucleic acid sampling in many places in the province.

Wu Shanshan said: "At the moment of the epidemic, there is no 'everyone' where can there be a 'small family'. Although I am young, I also want to contribute my own strength."

"It's just another place to work." Wu Shanshan wears protective clothing and works in the ward for 4.5 hours a day to provide nursing services for patients.

In the ward she is in charge of, most of the patients are elderly, with an average age of over 80 years old.

What worries her the most is a 103-year-old old woman, the oldest patient she has taken care of in the ward.

On the first day she entered the ward to work, she found that there was no record of her mother-in-law's lunch on the list.

Wu Shanshan immediately found her mother-in-law to understand the situation.

It turned out that the elderly mother-in-law did not sleep well and had no appetite for lunch, so she did not eat. After that, she was embarrassed to trouble the medical staff again.

Wu Shanshan brought milk and cakes to her mother-in-law to "pad her stomach".

While eating, the mother-in-law said, "It's delicious, girl, if you're hungry, you can eat it too." "Girl, you're so good." "Thank you, girl"...

Wu Shanshan felt very cordial, she couldn't help thinking of her grandparents.

"Mother-in-law, you must eat on time. If you have any questions in the future, just call me!" Since then, every time she sees Wu Shanshan, her mother-in-law will take the initiative to say hello, and she is also concerned about whether Wu Shanshan is eating well and sleeping soundly in Hong Kong.

Among the medical team in Hong Kong, Tang Xiaoyun, a girl from Qingyuan, Guangdong, was also born in 1997.

After a short training, Tang Xiaoyun and his teammates quickly adapted to the work rhythm and requirements in Hong Kong.

In her view, no matter what the operational requirements and standards are, Hong Kong and the mainland have the same determination and goal of treating patients.

Before departure, the Second People's Hospital of Guangdong Province trained medical team members. All team members passed practical training and assessments such as putting on and taking off protective clothing, taking nasopharyngeal swabs, negative pressure wards and fever clinic treatment. Supervisors, to ensure that all medical team members are fully protected.

Tang Xiaoyun, who returned to the quarantine hotel after work every day, would call his family to report his safety.

She has been in closed-loop management, working and living at two points and one line. Although she cannot go to the bustling streets of Hong Kong, she is happy that the quarantine hotel provides a lot of thoughtful services. Afternoon tea such as ice cream and small cakes are all their favorites .

During the more than 40 days in Hong Kong, the medical team often received flowers and letters of thanks from Hong Kong citizens, as well as autographed letters of thanks from Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam to each team member.

According to Lin Zhousheng, the leader of the Second People's Hospital of Guangdong Province, the hospital is the construction unit of the national emergency medical rescue team. Many medical staff are also members of the emergency medical team, and many of them have participated in the anti-epidemic work in Wuhan.

Among them, there are medical experts who have been sent to Fujian to fight the epidemic by the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council, infection control supervisors who have participated in the treatment of Wuhan Fangcang shelter hospital in Hubei, head nurses who have gone deep into the negative pressure ward to participate in treatment, and some have 20 Nurses with more than years of experience in neonatal intensive care, young doctors with wives who are also medical staff, and post-95s nurses who are not afraid of hardships and charge ahead.

In the team of 29 people, 11 people are under the age of 30, the youngest are Wu Shanshan and Tang Xiaoyun born in 1997.

"We were all born in 1997, and Hong Kong happened to be handed back in 1997. We really have a special relationship with Hong Kong." Wu Shanshan said that as a party member, as a party member, I can make a small contribution when our compatriots in Hong Kong need us. responsibility and honor.

"After the epidemic, I believe Hong Kong's tomorrow will be better and better."
