Erasing tags, repairing roads and parking meters, replacing planters... The episode of "yellow vests" and their Saturday demonstrations seems distant, but the town hall of Toulouse and the metropolis have not lost sight of the painful addition degradations.

And, against all odds, they won their case before the administrative court of the Pink City.

The latter has just, through two decisions, condemned the State to pay them more than one million euros in total – 560,000 euros for the town hall and 649,000 for Toulouse metropolis – “in compensation for the damage caused” by the “vests yellow” during the period from November 2018 to June 2019.

The judges relied on an article of the Internal Security Code.

It stipulates that "the State is civilly liable for damages and damages resulting from crimes and offenses committed, with open force [sic] or by violence, by crowds or armed or unarmed gatherings, either against persons or against property. ".

The court, however, did not retain all of the slate presented by the Capitol and the metropolis, which claimed 4 million in all.

For the cancellation of the "Festival of the violet" or the lost revenue in the parking lots of the city center, it did not pass.

In addition, the prefecture, which had rejected the claims for compensation, can still appeal.
