The decision of the board of directors of the Chemins de Fer de Provence, governed by the southern region and which deals with the management of the Pignes train which connects Nice to Digne-les-Bains (Alpes-de-Haute-Provence), do not pass.

He has just decided to replace the Annot – Digne-les-Bains section with a coach.

The CGT union of railway workers in Provence denounces a desire to develop “the line in its urban part, between Nice and Plan-du-Var, […] to the detriment of rural areas for which the train is the only means of public transport that can connect to the prefectures of Nice and Digne-les-Bains”.

Two deletions in two years

This decision comes in a context where another service, concerning trains 15 and 16, was already canceled last year.

“Two service cuts in two years.

At this rate, in three years, there will be no more train traffic on our line!

“, denounces the union.

A petition has been launched to demand “the cancellation of any plan to abolish the Chemins de Fer de Provence train, particularly trains 1 and 2 between Digne and Annot, as well as the restoration of the 15-16 service between Nice and Annot.

In two weeks, nearly 4,500 people signed it.
