She lost 40 kilograms of weight in a record time.. a young woman tells her experience with fruits

An American woman shed nearly 40 kilograms of weight by resorting to a raw fruit diet that allows her to eat more than 30 bananas a week.

Katie Brennemann, 32, was bullied in her youth because she struggled with overeating and weighed more than 100kg.

As she got older, Katie was determined to make a change. She became vegan in 2014 but didn't see the transformation she wanted, and soon learned of a fruit-based diet.

According to The Mirror newspaper,

This diet relies mainly on raw fruits in addition to a few vegetables, nuts and seeds, which made Katie lose weight quickly, as she now weighs only about sixty kilos.

Katie, from Indiana, USA, said that she had long suffered from obesity and her craving for unhealthy food, but she changed her lifestyle to become a vegetarian later, and then she was convinced of the fruit diet.

“I saw a lot of the vegan community on Instagram talking about fruity diets,” which she followed, only to find her weight steadily dropping.

Getting all of your nutrients through a raw vegan diet "is a concern," she explains, so I take a B12 supplement with algae-derived DHEA/DHA and vitamin D in the winter when I'm not in the sun.

"The biggest misconception is about the amount of food you eat," she says.

Fruits and vegetables are around 100-300 calories per pound, so you can literally eat whatever you want without worrying about gaining weight.”

In a given week, she says, she can eat 30 banana pods, a whole box of mangoes, and a box of dates plus three watermelons.”

Previously, Katie consumed vegan fast foods including pizza, pasta, and ready meals for her daily meal plus two alcoholic drinks a week.

Now, she eats raw fruit and juice for breakfast and lunch, followed by a delicious salad or a vegetarian dish for dinner.

Katie shares her favorite recipes on Instagram under the headline @rawvibrantlove.

She concludes, "It always makes me smile when someone sends a message saying I inspired them to change their health."
