According to the Minister of Economy and Finance, who does not yet know if he will be part of the next government, candidate Macron's promise to continue efforts to limit the rise in gasoline prices will be kept.

A vote planned for next July

Bruno Le Maire, however, mentioned an alternative option which, unlike the rebate of 18 cents, would be more geared towards “big riders”, including those who travel several hundred kilometers a day.

"Justice is to help those who travel 100, 150 kilometers a day or sometimes more, when you are, for example, a medical assistant", explained Bruno Le Maire on the air.

To manage to develop a more targeted system, the Ministry of Economy and Finance cross-referenced a lot of data such as income levels, the model of vehicle used or the number of kilometers traveled.

According to Bruno Le Maire, this new measure could be voted on next July.
