On the occasion of the Val d'Isère International Adventure and Discovery Film Festival, which has just been held from April 19 to 22, 2022 in the French Alps, we celebrate mountains and adventure, in the company of Etienne Klein, man scientist and radio man, popularizer of modern physics, but also passionate amateur mountaineer, thinker in his own way of this vertical world that is that of the mountain and mountaineering.

In 2020, Étienne Klein published "Psychisme ascensionnel", a book of interviews in which he shares his report, his relationship to the mountains: at the same time intimate, aesthetic, scholarly and physical.

This year, he was chosen to chair the jury of the Festival International du Film Aventure et Découverte de Val d'Isère alongside Céline Develay-Mazurelle, producer of the show, Charles Dubouloz, a French mountaineer who in January 2022 made the feat of climbing the north face of the Grandes Jorasses solo and in winter and Marine Barnérias, director and producer, author of

, a personal film about a great journey that she decides to undertake to ward off the illness that was coming on then to tell him.

For 25 years, this festival has been a major adventure event in France, offering to see films and adventurers who take us on a discovery of the world, of those who populate it and roam it, in search of meaning. and truth, sensations and beauty.
