A new round of large-scale heavy rainfall is coming!

Local rainfall or record-breaking places need to be vigilant

From April 24th to 27th, a new round of large-scale heavy rainfall will strike. 12 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities including Henan, Anhui, and Zhejiang will encounter heavy rains. Historical record for the same period.

The heavy rainfall process has a wide range of impacts. The area south of the Yellow River will also encounter the largest range of strong convective weather this year. Hunan, Hubei, Guizhou and other places may experience thunderstorms, gales and hail of magnitude 8 to 9. The public in the above areas should pay attention to early warnings in time. Forecast information, do a good job of defense.

Henan, Zhejiang and other 12 provinces will be hit by heavy rain

These places also need to be alert to thunderstorms, strong winds and hail

Recently, heavy rainfall in my country has gradually increased. From April 22 to 23, Jiangnan, South China and other places have just experienced a round of heavy rainfall. Among them, the Guangdong and Guangxi regions have the strongest rain, and local heavy rains have appeared, and the daily rainfall exceeds 100mm.

Starting from April 24, a new round of large-scale heavy rainfall will start, and the area south of the Yellow River will also experience the largest range of strong convective weather this year.

At present, the impact of rainfall in southern Shaanxi, northeastern Sichuan, Chongqing, western Hubei and other places has begun to show, with scattered heavy rainfall, of which the precipitation in Liangping, Chongqing reached 55.6 mm in 6 hours.

Affected by the rainfall, on the morning of April 24, the roads of Qinglong Village in Chongqing were seriously flooded.

According to a meteorological analyst from China Weather Network, the heavy rainfall covered a wide range in this rainfall process, involving 12 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities. The strongest period of rainfall was from the night of the 24th to the 25th.

Among them, on the night of the 24th, the rains in Henan, Anhui, Jiangsu, Hubei and other places were fast and violent; during the day on the 25th, the areas with heavy rainfall were pressed to the south, which will be mainly concentrated in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Fujian and Guangxi and other places. The accumulated rainfall in a few places can be as large as torrential rain.

In addition to the heavy rainfall, the areas south of the Yellow River will also experience the largest range of strong convective weather this year. From the evening to the night of April 24, there will be short-term heavy rainfall in Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Guizhou and other places, and there are still 8 to 8 local areas. Guizhou needs to be alert to hail due to thunderstorms and strong winds of level 9; on the 25th, the area affected by strong convection will move eastward, mainly in Hunan, Jiangxi, Jiangsu and other places.

The public in the above-mentioned areas needs to pay attention to the early warning and forecast information in time, and prepare for the defense against lightning, strong wind, hail, etc. in advance.

For example, reduce outdoor activities, pay attention to stay away from structures such as scaffolding and billboards; pay attention to covering construction materials at the construction site, and properly place outdoor items that are easily affected by heavy rain and hail; if you encounter hail, take shelter in a sturdy building in time.

Compared with the previous round of precipitation, the area affected by this round of heavy rainfall has moved northward and expanded, and will be mainly concentrated in the areas from Jianghuai to southern Huanghuai, Jiangnan and Sichuan Basin.

Li Liang said that the main reason is that the southwest vortex moves all the way to the east after it is formed, and the moving path is relatively north. At the same time, there is weak cold air from the north going southward, and it intersects with the strong warm and humid airflow on the south side of the southwest vortex, resulting in violent rainfall.

It is worth noting that due to the strong intensity of the southwest vortex and the low-level warm and humid air flow, coupled with the special topography of western Henan and southern Shaanxi, the rainfall has a certain degree of extremes, or breaks the historical rainfall record for the same period in late April.

The rain in the south will continue until the May Day holiday

The local rainfall in Jiangnan and South China is more than double that of normal years

It is expected that on April 27, this round of heavy rainfall will significantly weaken and end.

However, it is still difficult to reverse the rainy pattern in the south before the May Day holiday. From April 28 to 30, another round of rainfall will strike, and there will be moderate to heavy rains in the eastern part of Southwest China, Jianghan, Jiangnan, and northern South China. Local or heavy rain.

The rainfall in the above-mentioned areas will be 30% to 60% higher than that of normal years, and the rainfall in Jiangxi, Hunan and other places will be more than doubled.

In general, before May, two rounds of heavy rainfall were successively affected, which was conducive to alleviating the meteorological drought in Henan, Anhui and Jiangsu.

However, in the south of the Yangtze River, the northern part of South China, and the southern part of the southwest region, the accumulated rainfall is relatively large, and the above-mentioned areas need to be alert to the occurrence of secondary disasters such as landslides and debris flows.
