“9 Tawila” .. The phenomenon of robbery and kidnapping in the “Mawaters” terrifies Khartoum (video)

Many incidents of crimes of what is popularly known as “9 Tawila” have spread through social media in Sudan, carried out by members of unarmed gangs, represented in kidnapping phones and women’s bags from the streets using motorcycles, and calls have emerged in neighborhoods to form patrols to protect citizens from the danger of these gangs. .

In an attempt to address the growing phenomenon after the citizens of Khartoum complained on a daily basis about the continuous increase in crime rates carried out by the organized "9 Tawila" gang, the designated governor of Khartoum, Ahmed Othman Hamza, issued a decree two days ago regulating the use of motorized bicycles.

In the authorities' first move, the designated governor of Khartoum issued two days ago a decision prohibiting anyone who drives a motorcycle from carrying another person with him on a bicycle, and whoever violates this will be punished with imprisonment and a fine.

The circular stipulates that “It is prohibited for anyone who drives a motorbike to carry another person with him on the bike, and the officer in charge may arrest the person who is driving the bike and the person carried with him, and whoever violates the decree is punished with imprisonment and a fine or both.”

The two thieves attacked the doctor while she was returning from work and tried to rob her by force. The incident was captured on a surveillance camera.

One of the thieves got off the bike and tried to snatch the handbag from the doctor, who grabbed her tightly and dragged her on the ground, cutting off her fingers with a cleaver.

The people of the area gathered and tried to catch up with the thieves who fled from the scene of the accident.

One of the people hurried in his car, trying to catch up with the two thieves, while the people collected the doctor's belongings that were scattered on the ground.
