“The disciplinary authorities have been seized”, continues Lyon 3, which points to “serious accusations of racism and discrimination within a promotion of the history department of its faculty of letters and civilizations”.

Thursday morning, swastikas and hate speech tags were found in the toilets of the Manufacture des Tabacs.

"A student put a scarf around his face in the amphitheater to make fun of a veiled woman sitting near him," also told us a 2nd year student in history.

"The unfailing commitment" of Lyon 3 against racism

"As soon as these facts were known, actions were taken to gather evidence", specifies the Jean Moulin University.

The students of the sector concerned were brought together on Tuesday by the president of the university Eric Carpano, who informed them of the start of these procedures.

The press release also confirms "the illegal occupation", Wednesday evening, for about thirty minutes, of a university amphitheater, by members of the Student Cockade, an extreme right-wing association.

The management of the establishment indicates that it has on this occasion "made the necessary arrangements with the representatives of the public force to deal with any eventuality".

“I will not let our university become the instrument of those who want to undermine its values, insists Eric Carpano.

The commitment of Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University against racism, anti-Semitism, Holocaust denial and anti-Muslim hatred will be flawless.

Thursday noon, nearly a hundred young people participated in the rally against the far right, launched by the student union Unef Lyon.
