Prof. Martin Albrow is one of the first scholars in the West to put forward the concept of "globalization", and has been engaged in sociology for more than half a century.

Martin Albrow received his Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge. He is a Fellow of the British Academy of Social Sciences, Honorary Vice-President of the British Sociology Association, and Honorary President of the Global China Academy.

In recent years, Professor Albrau has turned his research direction to China, and has published two monographs on the community of shared future for mankind.

Peng Dawei, chief reporter of China News Agency's German branch and vice president of China News Research Institute, recently had a dialogue with Professor Alblau.

Alblau said that mankind cannot return to the world before the new crown epidemic, but the large number of cooperation between scientists around the world to fight the epidemic is itself a global process, showing the progress made by globalization.

Albrau believes that the West's understanding of China's anti-epidemic needs to understand the historical basis of China's social order, as well as the governance wisdom that China's ruling party has drawn from the Chinese tradition; It is also more efficient, which has also created a huge difference in the performance of China and the West under the epidemic.

In response to the question of whether China can avoid the "Thucydides Trap" and achieve a peaceful rise, Albrau believes that we should not always be attached to the old-fashioned geopolitical perspective, but pay more attention to the development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence , and jointly govern from the perspective of the international community, conduct dialogue and communication to guide emerging technologies for good, and manage risks.
