Ferrero products are causing concern for many consumers after Kinder brand chocolates were found to be contaminated with salmonella.

Since the start of the week, Nutella, the Italian brand's flagship product, has been singled out by several customers on social networks, reports

Le Figaro

.

Photos of the product show that the spread shows whitish spots on top, like bubbles.

What is visible when opening jars of Nutella, is also visible on Kinder Eggs.

These are two products that are not affected by the recall made by Ferrero.

The latter recalled all the products manufactured between October 15 and January 10 in its Belgian factory in Arlon, suspected of salmonella contamination.

There were chocolates, surprise eggs, Schoko-Bons or even Advent calendars.

A modified but expendable appearance

Kinder wished to reassure on his Twitter account.

“We would like to reassure consumers that these traces are not linked to “salmonella colonies”, but that it is a change in the consistency of the product due to storage conditions”, indicated the chocolate maker.

Contacted by our colleagues, Ferrero clarified that it was a “known phenomenon in the industry called granini”.

Temperature variations lead to the formation of small oil balls.

“The appearance has no impact on the product, which remains completely consumable and does not alter its taste in any way,” concluded the manufacturer.
