Heroic Ukraine is inexorably defeating Russia, winning victory after victory - on land, at sea and in the sky.

A little more, just a little more, and the Russian army will cease to exist.

But at the same time, this already utterly defeated army is preparing a massive offensive in the Donbass, which threatens the existence of the victorious Armed Forces of Ukraine.

And so that this “battle for Donbass” does not end sadly for Kyiv, the United States must provide Ukraine with as many weapons as possible!

Such a somewhat schizophrenic picture emerges after reading articles by American journalists on the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

In covering events in Ukraine, Fox News and CNN, CNBC and Breitbart, standing on opposite sides of the political barricades, are unanimous.

Like parrots, they repeat the same memorized phrases: “Russian aggression”, “colossal civilian casualties”, “heroic resistance of the Ukrainian army”... Russia's capabilities are weak", "there are no provisions in the troops", "the logistics of the Russian army is largely absent", "the atrocities and mass executions in Bucha" and so on.

The explanation for this is simple: all American media use only the data provided by Kyiv.

Moreover, if in the first weeks of the conflict it was still possible to meet reservations like “this information was provided by Ukrainian sources - and we cannot verify it”, then then they simply waved their hand at such cleanliness.

As a result, from the "references" published by Fox News, you can find out that Russia has already lost at least 175 combat aircraft in Ukraine, the losses of the Russian army are estimated at "tens of thousands", while the Ukrainian army has lost from 2.5 thousand to 3 thousand fighters, and indeed "Putin is losing this war."

One could, of course, just laugh at this, but the effect of creating such a “parallel reality” is completely sad.

In the minds of millions of consumers of the information product, scribbled by American journalists from Zelensky’s inadequate speeches and Arestovich’s propaganda nonsense, an image of an aggressive but weak Russia arises, whose army, which aroused cautious respect in the West after the war on 08.08.08 and the return of Crimea in 2014, suddenly turned out to be “ paper tiger.

In this parallel universe, the withdrawal of Russian troops from the north of Ukraine is presented not as a step of goodwill, but as a “humiliating defeat”.

Even worse, those who believe in this picture have the illusion of a possible victory over Russia, which is extremely attractive to the hawks of the Washington establishment.

Senator Chris Koons, a Democrat from Delaware, made a lot of noise last Sunday when he said that the United States needed to "discuss sending troops to Ukraine."

On the air of the CBS program Face the Nation, Koons shared a deep thought with the journalist Margaret Brennan who spoke with him: "Putin will stop only when we stop him."

In recent days, the senator has repeatedly made proposals to start a discussion about when the US can send its troops to Ukraine.

If the answer to that question is "never," Koons said, then "we will invite Putin to a new level of escalation and brutality."

When Brennan asked him directly if the senator thought President Biden was wrong in saying that the United States would not send troops to Ukraine, Koons gave an evasive in form but quite definite in content answer:

“I deeply respect President Biden's leadership in uniting the West and imposing crushing sanctions on Russia.

And in bringing countries to this struggle that had previously remained on the sidelines.

I think President Biden's leadership has been firm and constructive.

But this is a critical moment.

If Vladimir Putin, who has shown us how brutal he can be, is allowed to just keep killing civilians, committing war crimes all over Ukraine without (interference. —

K. B.

) NATO, without the West coming to the rescue more forcefully, I am very, very worried about what will happen next.

We will see how Ukraine will turn into Syria.

The American people cannot turn their backs on this tragedy in Ukraine.

I think the history of the 21st century depends on how fiercely we defend freedom in Ukraine, and that Putin will only stop when we stop him.”

By his political origins, Koons is a typical liberal Democrat, an opponent of the free sale of weapons and an ardent defender of LGBT rights.

But something else is more important: he is from the same state as the President of the United States, and is considered a politician close to him.

That such a heavyweight would dare to criticize Biden for being "peaceful" is a worrying sign.

It testifies that influential circles in Washington, who have long dreamed of demonstrative military humiliation of Russia, have fallen into the trap of an alternative reality created by Ukrainian propaganda.

Against the background of these hawks who believed the media parrots, even a relic of the Cold War Biden, who understands - if only because of his experience - that a direct conflict between the United States and Russia will lead the world to a nuclear catastrophe, looks like a reasonable person.

On Monday, the White House was quick to say that it did not agree with the opinion of Chris Koons.

“Senator Koons is a close friend of the president and the administration, but we respectfully disagree with his proposal,” White House press secretary Jen Psaki told reporters at a daily briefing.

- The President does not plan to send troops to wage war with Russia.

He doesn't think it's in our national security interests."

However, sending the US military to Ukraine, as Koons and his associates insist, does not mean that the US is not involved in hostilities.

As a senior Pentagon official quoted by CNN said, the US is "working around the clock" to deliver weapons to Ukraine "at unprecedented speed."

The process of issuing a permit to ship weapons from US arsenals to Ukraine, which in the past - and for other countries - took weeks or months, can now take as little as 48 to 72 hours, the official said.

In the past few days alone, the US has sent five aircraft armed with weapons from the new $800 million military aid package to Ukraine, including Howitzer 155mm howitzers, 40,000 artillery shells, 200 M113 armored personnel carriers, 11 Mi-17 helicopters and 300 Switchblade drones.

In total, in the weeks since the beginning of the operation, the Biden administration has authorized the supply of weapons and equipment to Ukraine in the amount of $ 2.3 billion, not counting the separate program "Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative", under which weapons are purchased directly from manufacturers.

The purpose of these deliveries is the same - to kill as many Russian soldiers as possible.

As a matter of fact, at this point the question of whether the United States is at war with Russia can be considered closed.

It would be naive to think that Washington gives Kiev all these expensive toys solely out of heartfelt sympathy.

In the sad joke “in Ukraine, the United States intends to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian,” the share of the joke, unfortunately, is minimal.

The Ukrainian conflict gave the Washington hawks the opportunity to realize their long-held dream of killing the hated Russians by proxy.

But the medal, as usual, has two sides.

Even CNN, super-loyal to the Biden administration, grudgingly admits that the United States has "few ways to trace the shipments of anti-tank, anti-aircraft and other weapons" that they are transporting to Ukraine.

In the future, “part of these weapons” may end up in the hands of “other armed forces” (read: Russian) and militias that the United States “did not intend to arm” (read: DPR and LPR).

The Biden administration sees this as a "conscious risk" it is willing to take to deter "Moscow's invasion."

“We have confidence for a short time, but when it (a weapon. -

K.B.

) enters the fog of war, we have almost zero,” said a source close to American intelligence.

“It falls into a big black hole.”

Isn't it strange to throw billions into a "black hole" without being sure who exactly will get this weapon?

In normal reality, such a dangerous practice would be opposed by congressmen, the intelligence community, and journalists (remember the Iran-Contra scandal!).

But not in a fantasy world created by hundreds of parrots repeating the same thing.

Indeed, in this world, bright Ukrainian elves, with the help of their mighty overseas friend, are about to win a decisive victory over the terrible totalitarian Mordor.

Left just a little bit.
