In a trial in which residents who evacuated from Fukushima prefecture to Saitama prefecture in the accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station were seeking compensation from the national government and TEPCO, the Saitama District Court issued a total of 65 million to TEPCO. I ordered to pay the surplus yen.

On the other hand, the appeal to the country was rejected.

About 90 people, including residents who evacuated from Fukushima prefecture to Saitama prefecture in the accident at TEPCO's Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant in 2011, lost their work and community ties and lost their peaceful lives. He was seeking compensation of about 1.1 billion yen from the government and TEPCO.

State responsibility became a major issue in the trial, and plaintiffs could lose all power to the nuclear power plant nine years before the accident when a "long-term assessment" of seismic activity was announced by the government's Headquarters for Earthquake Research Promotion. The country claimed that it could have predicted.

In response, the government demanded that the complaint be dismissed, saying that the "long-term evaluation" was judged to have no basis for verification.

In the decision on the 20th, Saitama District Court Judge Junko Okabe said, "The tsunami that could be predicted by the'long-term evaluation'is very different from this tsunami, and even if the government exercises regulatory authority, it avoids accidents. It is not admitted that it was possible, "he dismissed the complaint against the country.

After that, he ordered TEPCO to pay more than 65 million yen for 63 of the plaintiffs.
