The Emirates Literature Foundation confirmed that the 14th edition of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature has succeeded in achieving many achievements, and has received remarkable interaction from the audience, noting that the festival's competitions set record numbers, while the events received more than 105 thousand people, at the festival headquarters and via the Internet.
The festival celebrated the success of its session, which was organized between the third and 13th of last February, and reflected the recovery from the effects of the pandemic, in which 181 writers, creators and thinkers representing 47 nationalities participated, half of them from the Arab world, with a 100% increase in the number of writers over the previous year.
The results of the public opinion poll showed very positive indicators, as 64% of them are from the festival audience who used to attend the activities of its previous sessions, and 94% of the audience were happy or very happy, and they expressed their happiness in five categories, including: speakers, events, environment events, And the interaction of the Emirates Literature Foundation and the headquarters of the events.
Participants in the poll described the festival as an “amazing event.”
For her part, Festival Director Ahlam Blocky said: “We are pleased with the appreciation of the audience, and we are pleased to see that our program reflects the tastes and interests of the visitors, whose numbers are increasing with each session.”
She added, “It was really amazing to see school buses taking hundreds of kids to the festival again this year, as we’ve been missing out on their creativity for the past two years.

Blocky continued: “The last edition of the festival hosted events that brought together different forms of art, more than ever, with the aim of enhancing the interaction of audiences with literature, from duets of poetry and music, to themed dinners on the background of performances, an evening (horror) and literary debates, We believe that creativity and continuous innovation are at the heart of the festival’s success, and we are determined to present what is more amazing and surprising in our 15th edition.”
For his part, the Executive Director of the Arts and Literature Sector at Dubai Culture, Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, expressed his pride in the results achieved by the festival this year, explaining: “The Emirates Airline Festival continued its journey of continuous successes, achieving achievements this year, and as usual, opening A new door to support literary talents at the local and regional levels, through the new publishing house ELF Publishing LLC, and once again provided a platform for empowering and encouraging local talents, and providing them with the opportunity to leave their creative imprints in the community and launch towards global horizons. ”
He added: "We at the authority will continue to support this international festival, so that it remains a unique window to advance the literature sector in Dubai and the UAE and build a sustainable future for future generations, in line with our vision aimed at consolidating the emirate's position as a global center for culture, an incubator for creativity, a forum for talent, and a global center for the creative economy." .
