The future Faculty of Medicine of Orleans (Loiret) will not simply be a branch of that of Tours (Indre-et-Loire).

The prefiguration mission led by Matignon made conclusions in this direction on Tuesday.

She recommended creating a health department in Orléans this year, reveals France 3 Centre-Val de Loire.

An “ambitious” schedule

The latter will aim to become a fully functional faculty by 2025 with the aim of training no less than 500 doctors per year in the region, against 300 currently.

A schedule described as “ambitious” by those in charge of the mission has been drawn up.

It provides for quick actions.

In total, 7.8 million euros will have been spent to set up this new faculty.

The association project with the medical university of Zagreb (Croatia) was, on the other hand, considered “uncertain” by the mission.

This was carried out by the General Inspectorate of Social Affairs (Igas) and the General Inspectorate of Education, Sport and Research (Igésr).
