• Q&A End of indoor masks: how, when and where we will wear them from April 20

The Council of Ministers has approved this Tuesday the royal decree by which

the masks will no longer be mandatory indoors

.

The measure will be effective this Wednesday,

April 20

, once it is published in the Official State Gazette (BOE).

Exactly 700 days have passed since the order regulating its mandatory use was published in the BOE on May 20, 2020.

The date chosen for the removal of the mask indoors was announced by the Minister of Health, Carolina Darias, during the last Interterritorial Council, held in Toledo on April 6.

In that meeting, Darias pointed out that the agreement between the Government and the autonomous communities regarding this decision has been

"practically unanimous"

and that the measure has been taken taking into account the technical criteria put forward by the experts of the Alerts Report, Preparation and Response Plans of the National Health System.
