  According to reports, the album "Voiceless and Elegant Rhyme - Selection of Hou Yu's Peking Opera Lao Dan's Singing", which took three years to produce, includes "The Spear of Flowers", "The Story of the Golden Turtle", "Mulian Saves Mother", "Eight Treasures Soup" and "The Banquet" There are 16 core arias of classic Peking Opera Lao Dan repertoires such as "Zhu Xian Town", "The Female General of the Yang Family" and "Mother Xu Curses Cao".

A number of classic arias with different plate styles, different rhythms and different styles are included, which fully demonstrates Hou Yu's unique artistic style in Peking Opera Lao Dan's singing.

  Hou Yu was born into a family in Liyuan, and he began to learn Peking Opera at the age of 3.

In 2006, after graduating from the China Academy of Opera with an MFA degree with honors, he has been working in the Peking Opera Company in Beijing until now.

Hou Yu has been in the arts for 30 years and has been personally taught by many famous Peking Opera masters.

Former teachers: Sun Zhenquan, Zhang Jingai, Lin Yawen, Yang Yunqing, Zhang Lan, Li Liping, Wang Ziping, Liu Lili, etc.

In 2009, he was taught by Mr. Li Mingyan and Mr. Zhao Baoxiu, who had passed on his art for many years, and he was also taught by Mr. Zheng Ziru for many years.

  Hou Yu is considered to be a rare Peking Opera Laodan artistic talent. On the premise of following Laodan's performance routine, he is good at using various artistic expression methods and dares to keep trying and innovating. The characters he creates and interprets are quite new. In line with the aesthetic needs of current opera audiences, it has won the love and recognition of a large number of young audiences.

Hou Yu is good at portraying the images of middle-aged and elderly women of different ages, classes and situations with his voice.

Her singing is full of tension, full of vocals, mellow in flavor, clear in tone, wide in range, and strong in plasticity.
