(Fighting against New Coronary Pneumonia) From the temporary warehouse to the rider's brother Shanghai, efforts are made to break through the congestion points and increase the capacity

China News Agency, Shanghai, April 17th: From the temporary warehouse to the rider's younger brother, Shanghai strives to break through the congestion points and increase the capacity

China News Agency reporter Li Chun

Affected by the new crown pneumonia epidemic, for a period of time, the difficulty of online shopping in Shanghai has been prominent, and the e-commerce supply guarantee capacity cannot be well released. Opening up the "last mile" of material supply has become the top priority of people's livelihood protection in Shanghai's epidemic prevention and control. Heavy.

A reporter from China News Agency recently interviewed many links in the material security supply chain to learn how Shanghai dredged and expanded flow, opened up congestion points, and improved transportation capacity.

Temporary Okura: I really want to do more for the people of Shanghai

In a logistics park in Putuo District, Shanghai, a batch of daily necessities just arrived at the fresh food warehouse.

This is a temporary central warehouse set up during the epidemic in Shanghai, with a daily shipment of about 20,000 copies.

"These 20,000 copies are actually a combination package. The average number of items in a single package is 5. According to what we usually do, it is 100,000 copies." Qin You said.

Qin You is the logistics director of Hema Xi'an area.

A week ago, he and his colleagues from Xi'an, Guangzhou and other places entered the temporary warehouse to help the supply of living materials in Shanghai.

At present, there are more than 20 staff in the warehouse. Due to the shortage of manpower, "the division of labor is not very clear, and whoever can do it will do it."

From 14:00 to 21:00 every day, supply trucks enter the warehouse one after another.

Different suppliers are scheduled for specific delivery times, "such as milk from 18:00 to 19:00 and bread from 19:00 to 20:00".

From 21:00 to 4:00 am the next day, the central Okura will distribute and load the goods according to the demand of each Hema Fresh Store in the city, and arrive at the store at the latest at 6:00 am.

The central warehouse is a crucial hub node in the fresh vegetable logistics chain.

Shanghai is promoting the opening of commercial outlets such as large warehouses and front warehouses on e-commerce platforms.

Data shows that at present, 42 non-epidemic warehouses on e-commerce platforms have resumed business, and 779 non-epidemic front warehouses have resumed business.

In Qin You's view, the single-day shipment of 20,000 copies is far from enough, and the production capacity must be further increased.

"We really want to do a little more for the people of Shanghai."

Supermarket Stores: Improve Delivery Efficiency With Limited Capacity

The RT-Mart Nanhui Store, located in Huinan Town, Pudong New Area, is a supermarket visited by a reporter from China News Agency before.

According to the store manager Wang Zhongkui, the bulk of the supermarket's shipments are the supply packages provided by the communities and neighborhood committees.

There are also the purchase of materials for factories, construction sites, and enterprises, mainly vegetables, meat, eggs, rice, flour, and oil needed by the canteen.

For the personalized needs of customers, supermarkets can also provide distribution services.

At the same time, RT-Mart also communicated with the distribution company and transferred riders from other areas to ease the pressure of order distribution.

Sometimes, Wang Zhongkui will also follow the car to deliver goods. The purpose is to observe whether the delivery process is smooth and find links that can be improved, so as to cover more communities and people under the conditions of limited manpower and transportation capacity, and improve the delivery efficiency.

"If the efficiency of delivery to households is very low, we will implement intensive orders and adopt the mode of delivery to neighborhood committees and communities, which will be very fast."

Talking about the "last mile" blocking point, Wang Zhongkui believes that in the entire logistics chain, every link is slower, and the final efficiency will be much slower.

The material guarantee is sufficient, but the problem is still in manpower and transportation capacity.

"After all, there are so many people, it is really difficult to meet the needs of everyone."

Brother rider: As long as it can be delivered, the rest doesn't matter

At present, Ele.me has more than 90 riders at Fuzhou Road Station in Shanghai, but only 8 can deliver orders.

The rest of the employees in the station were locked up in the community where they lived, including the station manager Xiong Kuiyuan.

On weekdays, rider dispatch is completed by the platform system, but under the epidemic, manual scheduling has become more important.

Xiong Kuiyuan said that sometimes riders are assigned 30 or 40 orders in an instant, and they cannot be delivered at all.

The station will adjust according to the direction of order delivery. If it is in the same direction, it will be delivered, and if it is not, it will be allocated to other riders.

"We don't care about data now," Xiong Kuiyuan said. "As long as it can be delivered, the rest doesn't matter."

Zeng Jiahong, the head of Harley Road Station, has a similar idea.

After resuming work on April 3, Zeng Jiahong spent most of his time on errands, running from 8 am to 9 pm every day.

During a telephone interview with a reporter from China News Agency, he had just delivered toilet paper to some residents.

"As long as I need help, I will give it to them. Because now is not the time to talk to them about money, nor is it the time for us to make money, now is the time to help wherever we need it," he said.

According to Liu Min, deputy director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce, Shanghai is actively helping e-commerce platforms to restore their operational capabilities and helping security personnel return to work.

At present, there are more than 18,000 takeaway riders on duty, and the daily delivery volume reaches about 1.8 million.

Zeng Jiahong said that every day when he passed through various communities, he could hear residents shouting "come on, Shanghai" from upstairs, which also gave him a great spiritual shock.

"We (riders) don't have much ability, we just do our best to help a little bit." (End)
